As these last few weeks have gone by I have realized how much I enjoy taking and editing different types of pictures. I have read many articles directed towards beginner photographers that gives amazing tips and advice. Being a beginner photographer I found these articles very useful and informative. The latest article I have read was “Beginner Photography Tip: How to Create Dramatic Landscape Photos” .

As I started reading this article I realized how some of my pictures I have taken have just come out “okay” because I am not taking the right approach. This article was very helpful for me as it gave me great steps to start implementing into creating a beautiful photo. The first step mentioned in the article was “Timing is Everything”, and it states how you can have a spectacular landscape in front of you but the timing is off and the lighting isn’t perfect. There are different shots you can take whether it be right before or after sunrise and sunset or in the middle of the day, you have to focus on the lighting that the camera will capture while taking pictures
Another great tip mentioned in the article was “Shoot Wide and Low” which is something that hasn’t really come to my mind when taking a landscape photo before reading this article. “As I mentioned in the introduction, too many newbie photographers stand up straight and take landscape photos from their eye level”. I definitely fall into that category of only standing up straight and not thinking about giving the scene I am looking at much more depth and dimension.

This article was very informative for me because of the great tips that were shared for beginner photographers. I am excited to share my new skills and articles I have read with my family and friends so they too can enjoy taking photos as much as I do!
With learning all these new skills for taking photos I have also become better at editing my pictures as well. Below I have added a video on how I edit my pictures using the Snapseed App. I would give this app a 4/5 because of how easy it is to edit my photos, navigate through the app, and of course it was free (who doesn’t love free apps)! The reason why I wouldn’t give this app a perfect 5/5 is because I don’t necessarily think it would be the best app for people that are editing their pictures for the first time. Since there are many options of how to edit your pictures on this app people may get confused on where to start in the editing process.

Here is one of my finished photos after editing using the Snapseed app!

Here is my Flickr page with all the pictures I have taken and edited with the Snapseed app. I hope you guys enjoy! https://www.flickr.com/photos/168989254@N07/albums
