In this article by Angela Haggerty it talks about how wearable and mobile technology is emerging in the health industry. Wearing technology is changing the way people monitor their health. Using technology like this will be a useful development in personal healthcare.

With how much change and dependent we have become on technology today, it can only help us more in the future relating to health. Providing wearable technology that can track our health by measuring exercise, heart rate and calorie intake can help people become more knowledgable about their health.

This is a great way to help doctors truly know what their patients are doing when they are not together, some people may like this where others may not. This type of technology can help maintain health and prevent problems that can occur in the future. “Wearables may double up in the future as constant health monitoring tools that serve a medically significant role in preventing illnesses prompted by poor lifestyle decisions”. This can also relieve a lot of people from stressful situations, like when putting their symptoms into google and getting a false diagnosis.

Adam Ruins Everything- Why Facebook Isn’t free

While watching this video I never truly realized how much information and control Facebook has on me. Facebook logs everything you do, the pages you like, the people you interact with, and status updates. It then gets analyzed and they put together which advertisements would be a best fit for your page. Facebook can track what we view and look up/ google, this makes it easy for them to partner with firms and create what advertisements should be most shown on our page, which in the end will most likely have someone spending money when they didn’t have an intention to.

In this video it is stated how Facebook isn’t really free because you pay for it with your identity. Most people probably don’t think about this while scrolling through their Facebook feed, but then get freaked out why something they liked a couple days ago will show up on their screen as an advertisement.

In todays society it makes it very hard to do things without the use of technology. People may never know that Facebook can track and monitor the things you see on your feed. It should be stated that this happens while signing up to make an account. Some people want to use technology to their advantage but with things like this happening now and possibly even more in the future they may have an issue using social media sights. Finding out about this has changed my views on Facebook and has made me concerned about what other social media sights do this.
