While reading the article “The best audio editing software for beginning podcaster”, I was very intrigued since I am a beginner with podcasting. This article describes which editing software would be best if you’re a beginner in podcasting. After 30 hours spent using and comparing audio editing software, it was stated in the article they found Audacity to be the best all around option for podcast beginners.
They chose Audacity over the other editing softwares for many different reasons. They found that Audacity has by far, the best value of all the audio softwares they tested. Audacity is very easy to navigate and edits easily. The app lets you use on screen tools to “draw” fader levels rather than making you click through several layers of menu commands, making it easy to separate audio clips with no audible clicks or pops.
It also states in the article that the only downside of this software is that Audacity doesn’t support MIDI or musical-instrument plug-ins, so if a solo musician wants to make a finished musical track this isn’t the best software for them to do so.
According to the article, Audacity is the best audio editing software for beginner podcasters, it is easily accessible and has online manuals, and tutorials to make it easier on the new comers to podcasting. The article states that Audacity has a wide range of sophisticated audio processing tools and effects to remove the noise, coughs, clicks, and other unwanted sound that microphones can capture during recording. According to the article Audacity is the number one pick for podcast beginners where it will prepare you to use-more advanced audio editing and production software.
Winter Fitness and the Canon of Consistency With Chris Hauth

“Were able to give so much more when we take care of ourselves on a daily basis”.
On Rich Rolls podcast he had a special guest Chris Hauth. Chris Hauth is one of the worlds most respected endurance and ultra-endurance coaches. Their main focus of this podcast was to talk about how to maintain fitness engagement during cold winter months, when the New Years resolution has faded. They talked about setting proper goals, maintaining connection with your fitness when motivation fails, self care, reflection, and intention.
Chris Hauth mentioned how if you look at a company like Patagonia, their advertising skills intrigue and motivate you to be outdoors and live in an adventurous way. This relates to Hauths clients, he states they strive to complete a race at least once a month. Doing this inspires and motivates them to become more adventurous and become better versions of themselves. He also states that most of them aren’t necessarily looking for outcomes and results or results that validate their ego but more of doing it because they truly enjoy it.
Another topic that was mentioned was self care. Hauth recommends people to have daily check ins with themselves. He believes taking time for yourself will help you become more creative, more patient, and more energetic. He also states that you have a better relationship with time as you take time with yourself and continue to do something. He used the example of training at the beginning of the season to training at the end. Doing a 2 hour bike ride when you start training again feels like its 8 hours long, but by the end of the season doing an 8 hour bike ride, doesn’t feel as long as it would. Time goes by much faster when having a relationship with it.
The main focus of this podcast was to give some insight on how to become a better version of yourself. Rich Roll and Chris Hauth made this podcast very easy to listen to. They both provided examples from their lives which made me relate and made it more of a personal podcast.
